I believe that being healthy and active is essential for a balanced life. For me and my clients, fitness isn't just a gym membership! It's so much more.
Think about this, inactivity, gaming and binge watching television has become more and more of the norm for so many people…including our youth. It’s really that same old cliche'. A body in motion stays in motion.
My why…I intend to advocate for active, healthy lifestyles. Does that mean cutting out great things in life, absolutely not! It's ALL about balance, being consistent and hard work.
Life should be enjoyable and include ventures that are daring, challenging, exhilarating and fun. Why not tie that into a fitness routine? Variety is VITAL, and that's why I love to combine all sorts of activities (ONES YOU LOVE) into my workout programs. You get to do YOU and live better doing it!
Think of something that would make you feel free, active and alive! Let's find a way to merge fitness into the life you love. With a little strategic planning, proper guidance and brainstorming new and fun ideas, anything is possible. If you’re ready for a change, I’ve got ideas …fun ones!! So, pick a training package and let's get started!
Our mind, it's certainly our most powerful asset, but can also be a crippling enemy. When your mind starts to wander it can be hard to kick it back to reality and rational thought.
I know this feeling far to well, the part about a wandering mind. I secretly suffered from severe anxiety starting in my late teenage years. I kept it from my family, my friends and eventually my husband. I thought I was "nuts". Worry would sometimes consume my thoughts. I often thought I was dying or someone else was going to die, I was even terrified of flying and that was something that I loved. I finally opened up to my PA and was put on medication which made me extremely tired and caused countless other side effects and i'd say I felt lifeless. To top it all off, my medical chart still has a permanent "This Chick Has Anxiety" label. That's a fun one BTW. The Docs like to blame everything on it! Sadly, 20 years ago I was never offered alternative therapy, just medication.
So, what does fitness have to do with it you ask? Lets fast-forward about 20 years...I'm now 45. I strength train 3-4 times a week and do some sort of cardio once a week. I also ride my horse regularly, I walk and I get out on my SUP when I can. You may be wondering about my diet. It's definitely not perfect. I try to keep it all balanced, but i do indulge in my favorites! Moderation not restriction.
Fitness and an active lifestyle doesn't always revolve around weight loss. Yes, it can be a major benefit, personally, I use fitness as an outlet, a way to pump up my endorphins and a way to STAY OFF MEDICATION. I haven't been on a daily med for almost 5 years and recently I have been able to fly without completely knocking myself out with a high dose of Xanax. HUGE WIN!
On a side note. I have suffered with seasonal, fall allergies since the 7TH grade. My allergies are also gone. Now, that could be a complete coincidence, the allergy thing. I do know; however, there are plenty of studies and scientific research proving that exercise can reduce anxiety and depression. I will attach a few. Thanks for taking the time to read my story. Whatever your fitness goals are, I'm here to help and offer support. Awaken your strength, physical or mental!
